Lacy grew up on the great plains with wide open sky and a love for life. The open landscape became a state of mind still cultivated today in her work. Lacy studied art and psychology at Oklahoma State University. After traveling abroad and working for a stint at a Waldorf school in South Africa, Lacy went on to get her M.A. in Art Therapy from Vermont College. In 1998, she chose beautiful Portland Oregon as her permanent home, where she still lives and works today. Lacy continues to practive art therapy part time and spends time weekly in her studio as well. When Lacy isn't making art, you may find her in the woods or on a beach collecting treasures... often with her two boys and her Australian Shepard, Sunny.
Lacy's work employs imagery from the natural and built landscape to explore emotional and spiritual themes. She does this through abstraction, using bold colors and playful lines to evoke the personal narrative and inner world of the viewer. Lacy stays engaged with the creative process by accessing curiosity & play and allowing for new directions to develop naturally in her work.
